About Morier Benefits
With 30 years of combined experience, Pierre Morier and his daughter Sofie know the insurance business. They believe in establishing long-term relationships with their clients by providing top-quality customer care and personalized service – in English or French.
To Pierre and Sofie it’s all about the “little things” – returning your calls promptly, answering your questions, dealing with your issues, and finding the right insurance fit for you and your company. In September 2006 their hard work was recognized with both Pierre and Sofie named as “Top 100 Brokers” offering the Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan – two out of only four brokers in Manitoba to receive this prestigious award.
Much of Morier Benefits’s business is based on word of mouth referrals. This not only shows that clients are happy with their service, but also that client relationships are built on trust, credibility, honesty and integrity – making Morier Benefits stand out from the rest of the pack.
Pierre and Sofie believe in getting to know you – their customer – so they can stay on top of your company/employee situation and specific needs. At the same time, they also want you to get to know them. So here are a few things to know about Pierre and Sofie…
About Pierre Morier
Pierre R. Morier has spent 20 years in the insurance business, running his own company throughout most of that time. Through Morier Benefits Insurance Agency, his main focus is to provide group insurance benefit plans including health, dental and disability. Over the years, Pierre has developed some excellent insurance solutions for small and medium-sized businesses and home-based entrepreneurs.
Pierre works closely with the members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba and the Society of Certified Management Accountants, providing their members with various insurance, health, dental and disability programs.
Connected to his community, Pierre was on the Board of Directors of the Lung Association for more than 15 years. Having grown up in St. Boniface, he has been involved with francophone business development groups, the Festival du Voyageur, and as a board member of the Saint Boniface Chambers of Commerce.
To Pierre, it’s all about giving back. Today he participates in various trade shows, and supports his customers by getting involved in client events, charity golf tournaments, and other activities. In his “spare time” Pierre is a musician and member of the francophone band Les Louis Boys, and a student of martial arts with a second degree black belt.
About Sofie Morier
Sofie has worked in the insurance industry for ten years, gaining experience early on with one of Canada’s leading group insurance distributors.
Fluent in both English and French, her in-depth knowledge of the industry and insurance services is greatly appreciated by clients. Sofie believes in professional development, and continually looks for opportunities to further her professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, courses, and continuing education credits.
Every two years she attends a national sales conference that requires participants to qualify based on volume of sales – testament to her knack for establishing successful relationships with both clients and suppliers. She knows all clients on a ‘first name basis’ and has become an integral part of each and every client team.
As the mother of two young boys, Sofie understands the importance of family, and believes in giving back to the community. She can often be found around Christmas time volunteering with the Christmas Cheer Board and delivering hampers to those who are less fortunate.
Prior to establishing herself in the insurance industry, Sofie was a successful dog trainer – and very much in demand. Today, she loves spending time with her sons, and venturing out on weekend camping trips in the summer.
